How to Secure TikTok with a Passkey
Sign In to TikTok Without a Password
Mobile
From the TikTok app's Account settings, set up a passkey, choose a security key instead of Face ID or fingerprint, then connect your Seedkeeper PRO to register it.
Overview
TikTok supports passkeys, but only through its mobile app - there's currently no way to create one from a desktop browser. This guide walks through registering your Seedkeeper PRO as that passkey.
Passkey setup is only available in the TikTok mobile app (iOS or Android), not on desktop or the web version of TikTok.
The default your browser offers - Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a synced credential manager - creates a perfectly valid passkey.
Choosing your Seedkeeper PRO instead changes three things:
- The key exists in one place only. A synced passkey is copied across every device on your cloud account, and that account is usually protected by a password. A hardware passkey is generated inside a certified secure element and physically cannot leave it.
- Nobody else is in the chain. No provider account, no cloud, no vendor login standing between you and your own credentials.
- It travels. The same card or ring works on your phone, your laptop, and a machine that isn't yours - a work computer, a shared workstation - leaving nothing behind.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the TikTok app and go to your Profile
Step 2: Open the menu
Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top-right corner.
Step 3: Go to Settings and privacy
Step 4: Go to Account
Step 5: Tap Passkey
Step 6: Set up your passkey
Tap Set up (or Create passkey).
Step 7: Choose a security key instead of Face ID/Touch ID
Your phone will prompt you to create the passkey, typically defaulting to Face ID, Touch ID, or your fingerprint. Look for an option like Other options or Security key instead, so you can register your Seedkeeper PRO.
Step 8: Connect your Seedkeeper PRO
Tap your Seedkeeper PRO against your phone's NFC reader.
Step 9: Enter your PIN
Provide your passkey PIN to complete the registration.
TikTok confirms the passkey has been created, and you can now sign in using your Seedkeeper PRO instead of your password.

FAQ
Does adding a passkey remove my TikTok password?
No. TikTok lets you keep a password on your account alongside a passkey.
Can I set up a TikTok passkey from a computer?
No - passkey setup is only available from the TikTok mobile app. See the note in the Overview above.
Is this the same as TikTok's 2-step verification?
No, that's a separate feature (under Security & permissions → 2-step verification), which uses an authenticator app rather than a passkey.
Can I add more than one Seedkeeper PRO as a backup?
See Passkey Backup Strategy for a recommended setup.
Why register a Seedkeeper PRO instead of my phone's built-in passkey?
Both defeat phishing, so the honest answer is that it depends what the account is worth. A synced passkey is copied to every device on your cloud account, and that account is the new target. A Seedkeeper PRO passkey exists on one certified chip that cannot export it, with no provider in the chain - which matters when the account guards your account and audience. See Not All Passkeys Are Stored the Same Way.
